Is this based on the Slenderman mythos?

I logged on to ask the same question--that is the vibe that I get by looking at the cover and reading the little summary.

same here; though if there were a movie to be based on slenderman, looks like they could have done A LOT better

I took this to be shadow people but the blank face sh!t is definitely a slender man thing.

FAQ says it is a based on a story by the director, however he could be influenced by those. It is quite a good story though, worth watching.
