A first review

Once you accept the premise that an entire community could be so cruel to a young girl, the slow process beginning at the age of fifteen to bring her back to more normal social relationships is carefully and movingly choreographed. Within the constraints of the Japanese culture, her rehabilitation is most pleasing.
