When she stares into the camera like that and snarles "Judas". Freaked me out. Reminded me of Kathy Bates in Misery. She's fantastic as the Duchess.

I thought the actual line was written very badly. "Judas! Don't worry, we'll get you! Judas!" *cringe* Really articulate woman there. However, Anderson did deliver it very well!

I think she's kind of channeling Katherine Hepburn's clipped voice of the 1930's/40's movies.

Well, it helped bag her a well-deserved BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Go Gillian!

Maybe that's because KH sounds like Wallis. Wallis and Hepburn sound a LOT alike.

I agree, but only so far. She looks more "loony-scary" than dangerous (but perhaps she is).

She reminds me of a mean version of Bebe Neuwirth's Countess (I forget the name) in "Bugsy", whom he intends to use to assassinate Mussolini!

She deserves her revenge, and we deserve to die.
