Though I'm hoping it'll be alright... the world needs more good mainstream surfing movies in my opinion.

shareI can't stand it when sequals don't have the original cast in it. Why call it "Blue Crush 2" when it's an entirerly different storyline? IMO, it should be at least the same 3 girls (and Anne-Marie's sister) and set in Oahu. Otherwise it's just not the same. Sure they're a lot older, but then they really should have done a sequal in 2004 at least!
I'm not confident about this one...I may even just blow it off.
What they should have done is something like this: Keep all three original cast members: Kate Bosworth, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sanoe Lake and also Anne Marie's little sister (can't remember the actress name) and have it be about Anne Marie as a full blown Surfing champion and her little sister (Penny) now a college graduate following in her sister's footsteps

I thought it was quiet good, I started watching it with very low expectations, being a sequel and straight to DVD and all, but it was really good!!
I actually liked it more than the first one, but maybe that's just me!
And the fact that it is an South African/German production surprised me in a VERY good way!!
Nope was'nt just you. I thought it was better than the first one too. I found rather enjoyable.

Actually I think Blue Crush 2 is better than the original. Blue Crush felt like a contrived story, where BC2 felt more like an actual surfing movie.
