Was this whole thing just FOX making a point?

To shut up fans who pine and berate for a show to be renewed? Did they bring a show back and ruin it to make sure it would fail just to prove that shows shouldn't ever be brought back, they're canceled for a reason? So in the future the can say "look at Breaking In, we tried it your way and it failed, we're right, you're wrong. now bugger off."

"I said no camels, that's five camels, can't you count?"

what upsets me more than anything is they couldnt even bother to air even half the season, instead replacing with reruns of New Girl. They only even aired 5 of the second seasons 13 episodes. I cant buy that reruns are that much better at performing, at the very least give us the eps streaming on their site or something

Theyre gonna air eventually Dementa. Probably burn them off two at a time in June. I'm ok with it tho, mostly because the show was not going to make it to Season 3 anyway and there is not much on in June, so....

Let's be honest, it was a mercy killing. I have no idea what the heck show they were showing, but it wasn't Breaking In. It still had moments, but that's all, just moments. I wouldn't mind seeing the remaining episodes if you know who was blurred out and muted, but even then it just isn't the same.

Thank god they didn't bring back Fire Fly with Megan Mullally as the new captain.

I feel like they were setting this show up to fail. Which really is a shame because I think the whole idea behind the show is pretty neat.

Clear case of them not getting getting the show or why people liked it.

Some genius was like, oh well the geeky references is all it is. We need some female viewers who aren't into this.

Destroying the show.

The Case Against FOX, Exhibit A:

Also cancelled, this time after three seasons, then brought back.
Just finishing its tenth season, renewed for an eleventh earlier this week.
But, if FOX implies as above that cancelled shows should never be brought back, then either Seasons Four through Ten do not exist, or the FOX network has a pest control problem.

As much as I hate the show, Family Guy had a respectable cult following on the Internet (I wouldn't have been aware of Family Guy's fanbase in the really early 2000's if it weren't for the Internet) before it became mainstream and was ridiculously successful in syndication and on DVD (The season 1 + 2 box was the top selling TV on DVD set of 2003, IIRC) which is what convinced FOX to uncancel it.

I liked Breaking In enough to catch it the few times it did, but I don't think that it would be able to replicate what happened to Family Guy. It would be hard for just about any TV show to follow that very rare exception. A network wouldn't uncancel a show unless there was some clear way for them to make some money off of it. For better or worse, Family Guy is a multi million dollar franchise.

Though.... I can't speak for why Breaking In was uncanceled once, lol. I don't try to make heads or tails of network TV these days. The way decisions are made is infuriating.
