Why did Pandora evolve an 'immune response' if the first invasion was 2154?

If they ever did any fighting, it was against other villages; no forest "immune response" needed.

Did you watch the first movie? Jake interfaced with the planet and literally showed it what our planet is like circa 2154 and that humans are a "virus."
