I just can't go see a cool CGI 3D movie sequel because..

I agree that the characters are poorly developed, and not given the opportunity to grow. but why can't you feel anything about the characters?

Love sories, father figures, rebellious teens.

In all honesty, that's often the case for some movies with characters incarnated by flesh and bone actors.

Because it takes place in fantasy land.
