What format did you watch the movie in?

3D is obviously a must so that leaves:

HFR + Dolby Atmos?
4DX?
IMAX?

reply

2D only, twice.

reply

yes our Clacton cinema is to old and just 4K Dolby sound.

reply

4DX.

I'll probably see it in 3D again but not 4DX, too much water spraying.

reply

Ours barely had any water spray. I couldn't even feel the mist. Maybe it was because I was sitting at the edge of the theater seating and not the middle? I did feel the wind (flying and landing) from the 6 fans on each side, the smoke from two emitters (crashes but only in the beginning) at the front, the light flashes from 1 emitter on each side (gun fire or explosions), and possibly water mist (when in water) with one on each side. My only beef was that the seats were conjoined in fours so you can feel another persons feet kicking or shuffling. Also not a good idea to put drinks on the cup holders without a lid as I found out the hard way.

IMAX 3D

reply

5D IMAX ScreenX + Dolby Atmos

reply

Never heard of ScreenX, what are its perks?

reply

Our theater bought recently some new 3D RGB laser projector, they say it's similar to IMAX, not sure what. I was on it today. The movie description just says 3D HFR.

reply

Yes IMAX 3D with laser projection here too. Supposedly a sharper, brighter picture with less dimming when using the 3D glasses and more clarity. Had to drive 40+ minutes to get to the only nearby theater that had it but it did look superb.

reply

I watched it with my eyes closed, snored through the whole thing.

reply

Did you get a refund and did you offer compensation for disturbing those around you who did watch the movie?

reply

I don’t believe in refunds, not very American.

reply

Imax 3D. It was totally worth it. The immersion was overwhelming.

reply

HFR and 3D. It was ok but sometimes the smooth picture sequences distracted a bit. The short Train scene for example. Looked very much like the already known SOAP Effect whare moving action is too smooth to be real. (in reality you would notice a blurr over fast moving objects and with HFR every single image stays sharp
