A billion?

reply

900m domestic, 3 billion+ worldwide

reply

bold! I like it...

I am thinking around $2.2b

reply

getting close...

reply

As I peruse the internet, I honestly don't see anyone talking about it. That doesn't mean the hype won't start when it comes out, but at this point people seem indifferent.

reply

have noticed the same thing. but we are still 4 months away from the release. I am sure commercials and trailers will pick up around Thanksgiving.

reply

Wait, what? Release in 4 months? And this was 2 months ago?

So release in 2 months and there's practically zero noise about it?

reply

it seems that way. have seen a few commercials but not many. I guess they are banking the re-release of Avatar to spread the word.

reply

Why would they? The original already had the special effects, the 3D experience, the new universe with mysterious blue aliens etc. going for it. This sequel doesn't appear to have anything that we now haven't seen before. It's not even like the original set itself up for a sequel either, as it was nicely rounded up by the end, and people saw past the very simplistic and familiar story already.

What is there to talk about with this film, other than be curious over how successful it will be or why Cameron chose to pursue doing all these sequels?

reply

A measly 1.13B, just like Captain Marvel. Go Woke, Go Broke!

reply

What is woke in this movie?

reply

I was being sarcastic. Captain Marvel made big bucks, wasn't very woke either.

reply

Funny because part 1 had controversy for making all the black actors play Na'vis.

reply

It's the type of movie who will get even non-casual movie goers to go and see it at least once. Pair that with the fact that it simply has no competition - approx 700 mil domestic and worldwide more than 3B.

reply

$ 4 Billion worldwide

Tree fiddy

reply

2 billion at least.

reply

$4 trillion.
