title

What is the significance of the title? I didn't hear it referred to ever.

It's the street the bed & breakfast is on, isn't it? They show the street sign when the guy is asking directions. The old man points to it.

Thanks, I guess I wasn't paying attention--it seems funny that it wasn't mentioned again, though, since it was the title.

I think they should have used the town's name, as it's catchier. There are so many "== Road" movies: Arlington Road, Revolutionary Road, Reservation Road, Twelve Mile Road, etc. Sadly, they seem to spend very little time deciding on a title, don't you think? I imagine it gets tricky after a while, but how many people will recall "Fairfield Road"? I can envision someone asking about this at Yahoo!Answers, thinking that maybe it stars someone like Freddie Prinze Jr. or Mario Lopez (two actors Jesse Metcalfe reminds me of).

Maybe there were other references to the name that were dropped from the script, but they didn't bother to change the title. I think this is bad, because the viewer always likes to have the title of a movie be an important link to the meaning or main theme.
