Really enjoyed this movie. Very thought-provoking, adult theme.
"The Cosmonaut" was very well done, well acted and well thought out. It is not the the typical "Iron Man" blow up stuff movie, but was really good. Don't look for The Hulk to drop down and explain everything to you. There is a fair amount of beauty, magic, love and science here. It reminded me of Kubrick's "2001 A Space Odyssey", Demi Moore in "Ghost", and Bruce Willis in "The Sixth Sense". The adult situations and relationships are beautifully done. No campy stuff here. There are light- hearted moments, but much is of a serious nature. Training for space is a "no joking matter", for the Cosmonauts, and for their loved ones. I watched "The Cosmonaut" twice, and listened to the beautifully haunting music through the extended credits. Great job. I should really rate the movie a "9".

To each his own and movies are subjective but I do find it telling that you signed up for IMDB only 3 weeks ago and have since then commented on this movie only. It would seem as though you are personally connected to this movie in some way and are looking to pad ratings.

I think this movie deserved a "2" but I understand that others may have enjoyed it but I cannot imagine for the life of me that ANYONE would consider this a "9".

Come on, this movie is too "slow", it´s boring. I can´t keep watching it after the minute 20, I got bored.

I found this movie quite boring too. It teases some sort of quasi story, but never actually delivers an answer. If I could deduce anything I guess the story goes like these..

1. Cosmonaut goes to moon, dies, but his spirit now wanders earth in search of his love, however, he's stuck in the ether and cant seem to see humans ?.. unlike most ghost stories where 'ghosts' can see the living.

2. Another silly idea I had was that the Cosmonaut had landed near Chernobyl, his brain affected he wanders about aimlessly in search of random memories.

I wouldnt give a 2, but no where near a 9 either.

The best I can tell is that you have 0ne story going on, which
is told out of order and from different perspectives.
You have the politics, you have the love triangle, and you
have the actual guy in space/moon.

so what I gather is the guy who goes to the moon by himself,
then makes it back but durring re-entry something happens.
the guys ends up on a planet earth with no people on it, and maybe
even no atsmosphere. then the rest of us(well not me, the USSR) are
looking for his crashed pod, it is never found, and considure it
a failure both the man and politically.

Well all I can say to those who said it was boring is that you no doubt found it boring because it required you to do something more that watch CGI monsters, comic-book heroes, car chases, etc.

Now go away, switch your brain off and watch the 110th rehash of 'The Hulk'.

Bullsh!t. My favorite movies are Shawshank Redemption and the shining. Neither of which had any of those things you listed. You suck at life and more importantly at defending this pile of pretentious sh!t.

Oh please the fact that you refered to it as 'pretentious *beep* and used a petty insult when your taste was confronted, proves his remark, you also use insults rather than fight with intelligent words, i bet you like some dumb tough guy sci fi tv show rather than doctor who, this movie reminded me a lot of doctor who. A lonely time traveler in need of human company, i too give it a 9.

It is indeed thought-provoking. At least that was the reaction it provoked to me, and to such a level that I was compelled to stop watching it. I resisted until the capsule returned after seven months in space. By the way, what did he eat during that time?

Forget about eating, WTF was he breathing in that confined space. I'm sure they have some emergency supplies of food, water and oxygen, but not for the extended amount of time shown here. I call *beep* on that!

I really enjoyed this movie as well. Just found it on Comcast Infinity and streamed it to my TV. First off let me say it is not for everyone. The weaknesses were the Russians speaking in British Accents (big minus) and the lack of even an attempt to pull together the plot at the end. However the movie held your interest had a great musical score and probably the most intense 20 plus minute credits in any movie. The Cinematography and acting were excellent.

This could have been a masterpiece. I am also wondering if the version I saw was edited as some scenes I have seen out their in clips/pics were not in the movie. In any case I was really hoping it came together at the end and it just well... ended. But Ill watch it again.

Great acting, great sense of feeling within the movie. And kudos to those who worked so hard to bring this to being..
