This movie had no idea what it wanted to be

It started off so promising, with great scenery, acting, and a score. It set it up to make it seem like the was going to be some epic wild western adventure, going through the frontier, killing bad guys ,while recovering the money. It completely ditches that plot line and instead decides to focus on Cassidy and his past and background. At which point this movie completely falls apart. The first 30 minutes was a serious AAA movie, the last hour and 15 would be straight to DVD stuff. Jumping from scene to scene with no real rhythm or reason. Hardly any action, this movie about Butch Cassidy quickly turns into "western adventure" to "sappy lifetime drama" in a snap and leaves you wondering if they same director filmed the first 30 minutes and the rest of the movie.
