Foster vs. The Odd Life of Timothy Green

The second film was released in the US and Canada last week and is doing well. The stories are VERY similar. I wonder if that's why Foster is taking so long for a release? Anyone seen both?

Foster was based on an original short film and was a small independent film which has to be sold territory by territory.

TG is made and released by Disney - hard to compete with the marketing budgets of the studios!
However Foster is making a big impact wherever it has been released. Look at the FB fan page called O Menino De Ouro, where it currently has over 3000 likes and read/translate some of the reviews. Clearly it is making an emotional impact, despite it's limited released...

I saw both. I saw the Timothy Green movie first, and then stumbled on Foster earlier tonight by chance. TOLTG was decent, but Foster was more graceful. In retrospect, it seems like the Timothy Green manifestation of the boy was more... shall we say, contrived.

Agree. Enjoyed Angel in the House much more. TSLOTG kind of gave me the creeps with the leaves growing out of his legs. (Shudder.)

I've seen both. I thought Timothy Green was horrible. At the end he died which wasn't at all necessary. If he was like a tree he would have just hibernated in the winter and come back in the spring. At least with Christmas Angel in the House, Eli moved on once he had the family on track rather like Mrs. Miracle.
