that could have come on the radio while they were driving home, Venus, by Shocking Blue was the one they picked.

Some meaning there, or am I thinking too much?

Anyway, the kid knew the words, too!! AND got them to sing along!

I thought it was the Bananarama cover version, which was a huge hit in the UK in the 80s and still receives regular airplay.

No tears please, it's a waste of good suffering.

Yes, you can find that info on the main page for the movie, I was referring to the originators of the song.

I've never heard of the band you mentioned, so call me an old fogey if you must.

The main point of my post was to wonder about the choice for that song in particular.

Yes it was banana Rama's version. I do not think her reply was put down nor does it make you old for not knowing the band. just stating a fact of who was singing it in the car. both versions are good and yes I think there was some meaning to it :-)

In fact there are about a dozen "Easter eggs" hidden through the film, from signs, to names to anagrams... Watch it again very closely...! ;-)
