That this is just the first of a series of movies that involve the HSM characters after High School? Possibly even leading up to some sort of High School Reunion Musical once they're already gone?

I just can't help but think this Sharpay movie wasn't just a "let's make a spin-off" thing. Anyone else think that?

Especially since it seems that HSM4 is going nowhere. Since this was announced AFTER that and it was released before HSM 4 has even been announced as filming. Which brings me to my next guess, is this the start of a new TRILOGY based around Sharpay? They sure set it up for one.

We have a Ryan/Chad combo, Roger. Payton as a Troy. Sharpay is the new heroine. And Amber Lee is clearly a snobby, much more evil equivilant of Sharpay in HSM 1 and 2. Could they have decided rather then make HSM 4 with a new cast, to do a new trilogy outside of East High that focused on whichever character they could get to come back?

After all, after Allyson and Bart dropped out, it seemed pointless to return it to East High.

Oh and I loved the movie for that matter. XD

They're doing something similar to the American Pie series. A reunion movie is already in the works after series of spinoffs. It probably depends on everyone's careers. I love the cast, but I think 10 years from now, they'll all be at a point where they'll want/have to do another HSM movie.

If they do, it'd be awesome if it was filmed quietly, and they kept us in the dark until a teaser trailer. That has "We're All In This Together" playing in the background, with just shots from all three movies, followed by "Did you miss us?" then High School Musical, with Reunion crashing down beside it. :P I just would find that epic.
