the father deserved what he got at the end (major spoiler)

After he crashed the car and the kidnapper was knocked out he should have blown his head off. If the kidnapper wasn't dead then he was most certainly going to be on a rampage if he regained consciousness. Why assume he's not going to get up again when he could have been certain? It's his own fault that the kidnapper was able to come back to kill him and his whole family.
Why even pick up the gun when even after after all that had happened he clearly had no interest in using it? He could have had both legs ripped of and his guts hanging out and I still would have put five rounds in his face.
I pity the poor bastard who invades my home, lays a hand on my daughter and then allows me to get the upper hand.
Props to the girl for straight up caving that other creep's head in though.
