What's with the blurring of the mouth?

Whenever a character swears, not only do they bleep his voice, but they also blur his mouth.

Why would they do that? Are they trying to not offend lip readers?

It doesn't seem likely that the writers or producers would have chosen for that to happen. It must be some new thing with censors.

I think I have seen it before but I can't remember where. Certainly the vast majority of televison shows that allow for bleeped swearing don't do that.

Not sure but it's really annoying. If the show has that much cursing, it shouldn't be on Fox on a Sunday night, where the majority of audience is family type.

its so they'll make the money on the uncensored Season One DVD

Sunday night on Fox is 'Family Type' programming? My kids & I watch Family Guy every Sunday night but I wouldn't exactly call that a 'Family Type' show. They bleep stuff out but Family Guy can get pretty raunchy sometimes. Still good but not really 'Bonanza/Walt Disney' family type shows.

Sure! I'd think Sunday night, the family gathers together after dinner for a bit of TV. You're right about Family Guy being raunchier, but something about this show seems tasteless and I'm not sure what demographics they're going for.

FOX always does this:hells kitchen,masterchef

I'd imagine that it's for people that are hearing impaired.
