What a joke, the star of this movie is shorter than Melanie Lynskey who is 34 when this was filmed!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is supposed to be in High School. Yikes!!!

shareIf you think about it budget wise maybe they couldn't afford to do heavy aging makeup for the present day scenes so they met it in the middle. It's a story. Suspend your disbelief a little.
shareThey did use aging makeup for Kurt Russell, but he's mostly shown in wide shots, so probably not the best makeup job. The choice is to either cast young actors to play older or (good) actors to play about 15 years younger. I think they made the right decision.
