Did Scott change history?

Watching the movie tonight me and my husband think that Scott changed history so that he ended up with Macy. We think when they show the flashback of him playing college football at Ohio State is evidence that he decided he would rather have a simpler life that included Macy. Also there was the conversation he had with his high school coach where the coach talks about leaving and returning to Coldwater.

What happened during the scene you are referring to was that scott had changed the original play by telling the coach he would not run the "razor" play. The "razor" play is the one he originally was injured running. When he went to the line with the new play, which was a pass to the corner of the endzone, you saw flashes of what his future would be if he continued to run the new play. Then as he saw Macy in the back of the endzone he changed the play back to the "razor" play which kept his future with Macy intact. All he actually changed was the nerdy guy todd getting with sasha and gig catching a pass. Everything else stayed the same.

Good answer. But, one more thing that changed (and I think the main thing) was his attitude toward his life.
