4th ep of second new season: Top Gear

Took a while but they got there. Matt is much more natural and enthusiastic as host, the cars are proper super cars, the locations and production is top notch, the fun segment with the Pac Man arcade in the shipping yard was lots of fun, and race was as good as good any before. This show, while still not firing on all cylinders, has definitely hit its stride. Rory is the weak link. Seeming to fill the James May role, whether he's not allowed to participate or he's simply sidelined for budget reasons, it's just not a team yet. But Matt and Chris have solid chemistry. The celeb interviews are still ghastly. Nobody on this show knows how to talk shop and get a whistle.

I agree, I think this season has been much, much better, and certainly a lot better than I was expecting. Ditching Chris Evans and streamlining the presenting team back to a core of three has transformed the show this time around. The emerging chemistry between Matt Le Blanc and Chris Harris has been good to see, and quite entertaining. The jury is still out on Rory Reid, but I think he's OK, he just needs more to do.

I'm glad to see some good observations instead of the usual bashing of some TGT fans. I couldn't agree more, this season is a delight to watch. I'm very excited about the next season.
And indeed, the production is amazing. And especially the editing/post-production! How they introduce the FXXK or the Ford GT, just mind staggering.

The last two eps were terrific as well.

In the last episode the boat film was a bit long. But oh, how the portrayed the Porsche... Absolutely amazing! I wish I could see or read an interview with one of the films editors. They do such a terrific job.
