Entertaining variation on a theme

When I first heard about this, I have to admit to thinking "here we go again" and hoping we weren't going to be swamped with Red Riding Hood werewolf offerings. In addition to various films old & new (going back to at least THE COMPANY OF WOLVES), the idea has also turned up in comics and print ("Red Riding Hood," aka "The Girl in the Crimson Cloak" was a Gothic variation with overtones of Hammer Films, while "Bite Me" also involved descendants of Red Riding Hood's family as werewolf hunters). We've seen Red hunted by werewoves, we've seen Red hunting werewolves, and there's even been at least one yarn where Red was the werewolf. Don't know if RED is durable enough to work as a weekly series, but this film was fun.
