Good movie, even if you aren't a football fan

Just got done watching this

I'm American, and not a fan of football (to be fair, I'm not a fan of many major sports either - American football, baseball, basketball, etc)

Anyways, I still found the movie highly enjoyable. Good storyline, good development of the characters, it was interesting and compelling. I think they did a good job of painting the overall picture of how the game related to England, and showing the then current state of British society.

My expectations of this movie weren't super high when I started watching it, but... I just got pulled into the story and had to keep watching.

Thats the mark of a good story :)

This film would have been a very good addition to the excellent ESPN ''30 for 30'' series.

It's odd, since 1990 England has gotten even worse at the game they gave the world, despite having the most successful domestic league.

The English league is only the most successful in the world if you measure success by the amount of revenue it generates.
