Stupidest premise ever

I have not seen this movie nor do I intend to, but for me the last line of the description is one of the most ridiculous pieces of language ever to be misused.

"What if it wasnt just history?"

That does not mean anything. I think its an amalgamation of the cliches:
What if its not just a story?
and
History repeats itself.

It just comes across as stupid. Reminds me of "The singularity is about to explode, weapons to maximum!"

Reminds me of a trailer I saw the other day (don't recall the movie) but they actually said "a horror so unspeakable no one dared speak of it". :)

My question to the OP would be, what the hell are you doing here if you haven't even saw the film? Your opinion is moot and like most here already, I'm leaning towards biased too.

I have to admit my first thought when I read that line was the same as the op's. Exactly what is "what if it's not just history" suppose mean? Even if they are implying cannibilism is still going on at Donner Pass by some wacked descendant it would be a continuation of the history. If it's just a some unrelated psycho it would have nothing to do with the history or story of the Donner Party.

P.S.
I haven't seen the movie either. Comments on the boards are for all aspects of movies or tv shows including their taglines therefore no one's opinion is moot.

SPOILER: You're right. It was a descendant (kinda), and the movie was incredibly stupid.
