A few questions about Bad Company 2

This game is amazing, but there's a couple of things I haven't quite worked out...

What does that white square means that is occasionally seen next to some people's name on the squad menu?

If you spawn as a Recon for example, and pick up a Medic's kit, will you then earn XP for your Recon class or the Medic class?

Is C4 unlockable for other classes than the Recon?
I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple of Assault classes with C4 equipped, and that would be pretty sweet, as I find it a lot easier to run and gun with those than the Recon. But I can't seem to see it anywhere other than the Recon class...

Do you heal completely, or at all, if just sitting around for a bit when you're not a medic and not placed near a medikit?
The blood on the screen dissapear, and I think I've heard that "healing" sound after a few minutes...

3) Yes, you can equip C4 with an assault kit. You just need to use a weapon that doesn't have a grenade launcher attachment (like the Thompson).

4) On normal mode, you will heal very slowly. On hardcore, you won't heal at all without a medkit.

2.) If you spawn as a Medic and then pick up a Recon kit you will unlock XP for the kit you've picked up and are using.
