Only ONE obscure PERSON thanked movie fans. Just saying.

PLEASE NOTE: MrEvelynAnkers (fellow IMDB poster)(NOW KNOW AS "RavenFilmsAndReviews") has proven that someone did in fact thank the movie-buying fans. That person was Lee Unkrich who accepted for Toy Story 3. Nevertheless, I think the point of the thread isn't lost on this detail. But in good conscience, I have edited the original title for the sake of accuracy.

In this yearly thank-fest where they come together to finish off the awards season, a season of complete a$$-kissing, not one of these self absorbed clowns bothered to thank the people that make these films possible, and that they make the films for, and that transfer all their money to them, THE MOVIE-BUYING FANS.

I just think one thanks to the fans would have showed some class. Even the million dollar sports stars thank the fans. These Hollywood people take the cake.

I wholeheartedly agree! Bunch of self-absorbed blow hards.

No-one twists your arm to see their movies, though. That's YOUR choice. If you feel that they are ungrateful, just don't go to the movies anymore. Problem solved.

subject. The subject of this thread is about the ungratefulness
of the actors, NOT about not seeing their movies. A fan can
always contact the stars or their representatives to ask them
to be grateful. Your post is akain to "change the channel."

THAT is not a valid argument.

Lady GaGa original? Really? I have news for you, youngster. Lady GaGa is a rehash of Madonna who was a rehash of Marlene Dietrich. Original died a painful death by the 1940s.

As for the "stars" not thanking the fans: that has nothing to do with the Oscars. The Academy Awards are an industry voted award. In other words, box office has no bearing on how Academy members vote. If you want to be thanked then watch the People's Choice Awards.

Finally, if you're sick of giving away your money to unoriginal crappy movie stars then stop going to the movies!

What goes down must come up.

Yeah, I definitely feel snubbed!

Usually a few of them remember to tip their hats to the fans, or they mention it up front or during one of the segments, but this year...nope. And it seems each year they keep adding more and more awards shows to praise themselves. I only watch the Oscars, and the Globes. The rest of it seems redundant.

I mean, is there another industry where they 'honor' each other as much as these people do???

But the fans aren't giving out the awards, the Academy is. They are being judged by their peers, not the fans.

I think it's a bit crappy too...but it is what it is. I don't know, when the King's Speech guy had his mom out reading for jobs...wow, this field is a bit nepotistic.
