who should host?

I think Neil Patrick would be awesome!

It's official: James Franco and Anne Hathaway will be the hosts of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards.

In the words of Peachy Carnahan played mellifluously by Michael Caine, "Pardon me while I fall down laughing!"

It's just another attempt to prevent Kevin Kline from hosting the Oscars.

Martin and Baldwin were fun...too bad they won't be back.

I had the same reaction as the second-to-last post: when I heard that Hathaway and Franco were going to host, I thought it was a faux pas. When I realized that this was confirmed, I could not believe it; I still can't!

These days, I have lost my faith in the Oscars. It used to be a show where they really celebrated movies and their art; now, it feels like a popularity contest.

I was a little optimistic when it was announced Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin would host last year's Oscars. Now, with these two for next year, they have to work really hard to surprise me.

It's a weird pick. Im excited for Hathaway because I love her work. I like James Franco but am confused because I can't picture him doing it. That and I prefer one host vs multiple. I enjoyed Hugh Jackman, wish he would do it again soon.

To me, having two hosts imply that these producers are trying a little too hard to please the audience.

You want to know how they can spice up the Academy Awards? Pick two of the most (if they are going on that route) acerbic comedians we have in America. Sarah Silverman would make a great host and I am a huge fan of Ricky Gervais. If we can get one or even, and this would be sweet, two of them together, they would eradicate the audience with their brand of humor.

When I think of Hathaway and Franco, they are wonderful actors. Hosts? I am still trying to wrap my mind around it.

I think Ricky Gervais would only host if The Oscars came to NBC, just a thought though. Also he'd have to not host the Globes in the same year, because him hosting two major award shows in one year would be overwhelming and confusing, also it might undermine both shows. I don't think Sarah Silverman would be good because she's a bit of a loose cannon. Also you have to really like Sarah Silverman to wanna see her do things, like me I'm personally not a fan so I don't watch things she's involved in.

Having watched the Globes, Ricky Gervais would be a cogent choice. But deducing from his performance, it was brilliant but too risque to be a host for the Oscars.

Billy Crystal or Steve Martin. Dennis Miller would be another good choice.

Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey.

Did you see the Intro the The Emmy's or the 2002 MTV Awards?

Plus they're veterans of Live Television AND COMEDY (Unlike Eddie Murphy lately.)

reply

I really dug Jimmy Fallon at the Emmy's. As well as Neil Patrick Harris
