There are virtually no indications to Pym being transgender except the fact that he dressed up as a girl a few times.
If he's gay, do some gay boys dress up as girls?
I think he's just gay. A lot of gay boys dress up in girls clothes when they're growing up, some do it from a young age because it's attractive to them, others do it because they're curious or confused. It's a way for some boys to experiment and even rebel. Maybe Pim was affected by not having a male role model around the house when he was growing up. His mum seemed cool with him doing it so maybe it was just "normal" to him.
