Not seen this series but if you are talking the old version I think it's Gloria Jones, former love of Marc Bolan, mother of Rolan. If it's an updated version not sure. Before Soft Cell re-did it (very wondefully I must say for a cover) it was an old Northern Soul classic.

It's not Gloria Jones. It's not a motown version. It's a strange one, must be a new cover made for the show. I have no clue though.

Just have to say I much prefer the Gloria Jones version to Soft Cell.

I'm pretty sure it's the Inspiral Carpets - they were big in the early '90s. I think I've seen them a few times. I saw a lot of people round that time. It's on YouTube.
