So has anyone seen it??
What did you think?? Please share your thoughts on this movie.
shareYes...I saw it and thought that it was beautifully written, directed and acted.
Cool. I'm a big fan of Kay Panabaker (who plays Alison). How was she in the movie?? I heard she had a "love scene" with Carlos Pena (who plays Louis).
shareShe was excellent - the entire cast was superb. Her role wasn't at flashy as Juno Temple's, but she nailed it.
I'm not sure that the love scene was really that significant, but I do hope that you get a chance to see the film. I think that you'll find it quite moving.
Well I expected Kay's character to be just about the opposite of Juno's. But I think Kay (Alison) listening to Juno (Lily) and doing what she asked was her way of supporting her friend. Kay (Alison) didn't want to get involved with the guys but did so at least once on the insistence of her friend Lily.
shareYes - that's exactly right. It was a real test of their friendship.
Kay and Juno had a wonderfully natural chemistry together. Everything was so honest.
Well in any event I still want to see the movie. .... But given that Kay is my celeb crush I wish I had been the guy she was making out with. ;-)
shareHow was Kyle Gallner In the film? What's his roke exactly?
shareI just watched this online(and I'm IN LOVE with Kyle Gallner in general btw he's the reason I watched it) and he's amazing. Another awesome acting job by him, I can't really give my final opinion on his character without giving the movie away but for the majority of the film he's really the sweetest guy, still screwed up but the sweetest
shareAmen! I am a college student emphasizing in writing and film and I cannot agree more this is a very touching human film because we all can or should be able to relate to it, this is a film about making bad choices and the consequences of them. " for we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of G-D" sums this film up very well, I dont know if the writer was trying to make a christian film but if he cleaned it up a little bit their would be a great market for this. one of the most thought out and well developed films I have seen in awhile.
shareI highly doubt that Elgin James is a Christian. There would not have been that much (if any) vulgarity in the film (among other things) if he was. I did not see anything remotely Christian in this film. It was quite the sinful film actually. But then again what film isn't these days? The two female leads are great actors but the things they partook of in the film were horrible.
shareYour post is an example of one of the many things that I do not understand about the perspective of Christians on secular reality. The Holy Bible is filled with violence, murder, rape, incest, genocide, etc but somehow films that feature any of those things are "sinful" despite what the ultimate message is?
Just because a film shows something, does not necessarily mean that it supports it. How can you portray redemption without showing what the characters are being redeemed from?
Take the original Bad Lieutenant, for example. That film features nudity, rape, violence, drug abuse and more, but it is frequently cited as a film with a strong Christian message (Scorsese has been quoted on this) because it is all about the process that the character goes through towards finding the ability to forgive.
They Live. We Sleep.

Maybe it's because I'm bitter about some stuff or maybe it's because I'm cynical... but the ending sucked! Lily did not deserve Allison's friendship. Lily was crazy and had serious issues. But she had a caring mom and a caring best friend... I didn't get it. The director could have explored that more (especially when it becomes obvious in the film that she's messed up because of her dad but that was brought up ONE TIME towards the end).
I liked the movie overall but the ending killed it for me.
It's a decent movie. The more I think about it, the more I like the ending.
shareit was borderline watchable 5/10
so many movies, so little time
