Manjinder Virk

Obviously the cast did a great job but I felt Manjinder Virk's performance was excellent. Despite the bad things Lorraine did, you felt for her and her life experiences. She never really stood a chance.

Yep, she did a great job, no doubt.
However, I am not sure I agree with the "she never really stood a chance" bit. It's too easy. Yeah, she had it really rough but no-one forced her to have three children. And she said it herself: She chose drugs over Harris. I wish her well for the future and I feel sorry for what she went through. But that doesn't absolve her of her own responsibilities and the bad decisions she took.

I think Lorraine would agree with you, but the OP was right, she never stood a chance. Choosing the drugs would have been about avoiding her feelings and legacy. She wasn't forced to have three children but she was not in her right mind, strung out on drugs and prostituting herself. She, and the men who helped her conceive - let's not forget them, did not use contraception.

I give my respect to those who have earned it; to everyone else, I'm civil.
