Oh, My Lord, I was so nervous watching Mr. Cunningham navigate the Manhattan streets on his bike. He's not 25 years old now and he could so easily be thrown from the the bike and killed.
He's an amazing old boy, that's for sure.

Americans are weird about helmets; I guess it's our nanny tendencies. Go to any number of big cities in Europe and you'll see many people using bicycles for transport sans helmet.
shareDoesn't the fact that Bill Cunningham has been riding a bike in New York City, virtually every day, all day long (for what, 50+ years?) without a helmet, speak to the pantywaist mentality of the bike helmet culture, and ultimately, the basic manliness of Bill Cunningham?
