8/10 A deseperate ride out of sadness and into emotional freedom.

8/10

This is a classic feelgood movie, it brings to life connotations of old greats (which has clearly inspired this) movies such as Rainman (1988), Gilbert Grape (1993) and Little miss sunshine (2006). In these movies the key to success is casting, which here is well done. Chemistry is important and this has that.
Cinematographically it has times that are beutiful combined with music that is not always dead on but close enough.
This is a movie i recommend, if for nothing else to see that remakes of not to old concepts without a big hollywood budget can be done well.

Pro's
Acting
Veronica Cartwright
Open ending.

Con's
A few moments of weakness (when a lessend version of the movie shines through)
The movie theme of traveling the road was not enough prelevant to use the ending that was used. Not using "Moonlit Sailor - Stranded Tension" for the end was a great disappointment even though the music used in the end was fitting to the footage displayed.

Ignorance is only a bliss if you haven't reached awareness.
My imdb posts are getting altered.
