Why make a movie about this loser?

Ok sure he had a nice little boxing career and came back from a car wreck but he is a total loser. Dude is nothing but a drunken petty criminal who likes to pass bad checks and beat women. He is a punk. I can't believe that someone financed this movie I bet 99% of the population has no idea who this guy is or was.

Like the promoter in the movie said. "We can sell this story".

I know nothing about his character or behavior as you describe. The film was just flat to me. Nothing compelling about the character despite his accident and recovery, which was surely remarkable. Was it Miles Teller in his portrayal that made the film flat for me, or his proclivity for strip clubs/lap dances? Probably both. The best thing about the film was the amazing performance of Aaron Eckhart.

So a character going to strip clubs..... what? What are you even saying? The movie fell flat because the main character went to a strip club twice?

OP is a bitter pathetic loser sitting behind his keyboard talking down to someone who put his life on the line being a fighter. 99% the world doesn't know who is he but 100% of the world doesn't know who you are and even your parents wish they didn't know you.

Regardless, he was still a great boxer with a great story. Movies are made about douchebags all the time.

I remember reading a magazine article back in the day about his training with the halo on and how it was that training that actually increased his healing time.

Good question, add this to the list, "Southside with You".
