Much better than the packaging might make you think it would be
With the cheap-ass cover image and shlocky title, DEATH STOP HOLOCAUST looks like it would be just another no-budget slasher disappointment like the endless succession of movies that padded the shelves at hollywood video for years. I ended up seeing it anyway, and it is much better than that. Like the recent HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, it is well filmed with mostly slow, painstaking scenes and real locations. The story is horrifying, especially a dream sequence, and pretty merciless.
The film makers are clearly obsessed with recreating the grindhouse feel, but don't let that put you off. They do a much better job of it than most.
The script is bad, and makes the actors annoying, but they still do a good job. The final scene is pretty hard hitting.
Check it out.
