What's up with Ser Pouncealot?

So... What's up with Ser Pouncealot (Anders' pet kitten)? I gave him as a gift and now he's a usable item? Anyone know what I do with him? Is he a single-use item or infinite-use item? What does he even *do?*

Help, curiosity is killing this cat!

He revives any fallen party members. However Anders has to be in your party for the cat to be an "active" item.

and you can refer to it as Anders' pussy which always gets a giggle.

Does Anders have to be alive (ie not fallen on the floor), or just *in* the party?

So far I've only used him to make Anders say funny stuff, heh heh!
