Excellent Movie!!!

Just saw the movie tonight at the last night of the Tribeca Film Festival. I have to say I love all Ed Burns movies & "Nice Guy Johnny" was no exception. I just love a well written movie that carries itself on it's own merit without wild special effects. The music score was great ...the time lapse in the driving sequence was great and the whole execution of direction and storytelling was just awesome. Just a truly enjoyable evening. I hope & wish for all good things for this movie and for Ed Burns!

oh...and Ed Burns was gracious enough to do a Q & A at the end of the screening of the movie. Some great questions and most definitely very interesting answers.
After the Q & A, Ed even stayed to speak with some of the viewers. Thanks Ed!

I agree wholeheartedly. Excellent film.

It had its flaws, but overall a very impressive project for a 25 grand budget.

Totally agreed. Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Hope it made money for the people involved because it certainly deserved to.

I had also never see the main character in this movie, or the girl he met in it (the tennis instructor) but they seemed to have such great chemistry and acted so well together. Good luck in all your future projects, to all concerned.

I dont agree the movie was not that funny or good, that matt Bush voice is soooo dam annoying.

Watching it now on cable for the 4th time. Edward Burns' writing and directing is always great. I love every single one of his films, this is definitely no exception. I love simple stories, about girls and guys, and real-life problems they face in relationships. And I love when the nice guy gets the girl (She's The One, Nice Guy Johnny, Brothers McMullen, Sidewalks of New York).

Burns' stuff always reminds me of Woody Allen, but more serious and less quirky. He's a huge fan, so it doesn't surprise me that he makes films with real people, and goes for the sophisticated writing.

My fave Burns films (top 10):

1. She's The One
2. Sidewalks of New York
3. Nice Guy Johnny
4. The Brothers McMullen
5. The Groomsmen
6. No Looking Back
7. Looking For Kitty
8. Purple Violets
9. Newlyweds
10. Ash Wednesday

I love them all equally, but I think the first 5 are his best ones.
