Jackie climbed onto the back on the car and in the film it shows her desperately trying to gather the pieces of his skull.

Was that really her intention? In the original footage I thought she was either trying to get out of the car or trying to help up the security guard who jumped on the back.

Is this something she actually addressed or did the film take some liberties with it?

Absolutely. Later she came up to a doctor with a handful of bones and brain asking, "Will this help?" even though she had said out in the parking lot that he was dead.
