One scene that should been in the film

John Junior. saluting his father's coffin. it's such an iconic image.

Other than that, Jackie is very good.

Have to disagree. That would have been cliche. At least for those of us who lived through this tragedy and remember that actual event.

What's so cliché about it? It's no less cliché than the pink chanel suit or Oswald being shot, these are facts that are part of the collective memory, just because they're expected don't make them predictable or cliché. And that's what the directing is meant for, to turn something predictable into a powerful scene, I loved the way they dealt with the assassination (another "cliché") so I'm sure Lorrain could have found an original and powerful way to shoot the salute without making it cliché.

My greatest disappointment of this film. Maybe they tried to film it and it didn't work, but with as much else that they replicated exactly, including use of vintage film, and having the actors so resemble the originals as to cut from vintage to new film, for crying out loud, show a film from behind or the side of John Junior saluting (films from various angles probably exist) and cut to a closeup of the young actor's face, or even colorize the old film and digitally put the modern actor in (as was done with 100-year-old film in "Hugo" and historic scenes in "Forrest Gump.") John Junior had to practice the salute a lot for a Veteran's Day visit to Arlington shortly before the assassination, and the little boy in the movie could have practiced too. Such a cop-out. I thought they might even run the real film as a final image but no.
