Blu-ray release

Racing Extinction will have you asking, “What can I do to help?” as its closing credits roll, which is the sign that its filmmakers created an effective, entertaining, and most significant, necessary documentary. It’s easy to believe that the planet is on a one-way path to destruction, and efforts of monumental proportions will be needed to contribute even 1/1000th of difference, but Racing Extinction wants to both scare you—which is does, and should—as well as provide some comfort. The Kauai O’o bird may have sung its last song, but we haven’t—not if we open up our eyes and ears.
