One of the best Sci-fi/Fantasy in the last decade

Let me open with this movie is not for everyone - however, for those of you that enjoy the sci-fi/fantasy genre, then this is for you!!!

Great effects, great story-line, great acting, great plot, solid, well thought plot twists. (the Constantine reference/crossover is PERFECTLY done!!) [btw, that's no spoiler]

This isn't 'The Avengers', it isn't horror, isn't not even a lot of action. It's an AD&D campaign, complete with cantrips, spell components, curses and even the 'level' of a 'class' they meet.

[[Food for thought: If you wonder why it's so AD&D oriented ... the movie is based off of Vin Diesels AD&D character (yes he played) 'Melkor']]

Really good fantasy flick.

Yeah, cool concept but they could have done more with it. I liked Vin's character though. He showed some sensitivity in this that's not displayed in other films. I liked his calm and quiet confidence in this but I felt he was downplayed in his fighting skill.

"One of the best Sci-fi/Fantasy in the last decade... NOT!"

Hey, leave him alone! Why you gotta be so mean? I mean cmom...clearly he's got a learning disability if he thinks it is a good film, and a severe learning disability if he thinks it's the best sci-fi/Fantasy in the last decade. That says he's got some extreme health and mental issues, and we must be kind, supportive, and tolerant of those with such problems.

We don't laugh at the mentally retarded do we? We show them love.
We don't mock those with disabilities do we? We must attempt to help them.
We don't giggle at midgets do we? We must....wait, ok...we do giggle a little.

But in this case, LEAVE HIM ALONE! Can't you see he isn't well? He's probably a bed-wetter too. And that's just sad. We must assist people like these, and buy them warm hats, sports beverages, portable chairs, and adult diapers. Oh, and board games, they adore board games. Like Candyland, Hungry Hippos, or that mouse trap one, what was that called? They can entertain themselves for hours and hours with a good board game. Even longer if they have another person to play with. A sharp stick and a shoebox full of rodents keeps them busy for a while too.

In conclusion, be kind to those who feel this is a great film, because it's a warning sign that you are dealing with someone who has some serious problems, and who might need your help. Be kind, and support the weak of mind, spirit, and body. Just because they are dim, doesn't mean you can't take the time to gather up some rodents for them, yes?

Do the right thing.

Perhaps in your future posts you can try to be even more obnoxious.

And then again close with "Hail Jesus!"

"'You don't make fun of the mentally handicapped!' No, I agree with you, sir, even though you sound like half a tard to begin with. Perhaps you shouldn't be the group spokesperson. But no, you're right, and here's why: They have the strength of ten men, which is roughly equivalent to one chimpanzee. And that is why if you ever see a retarded chimp, you turn and RUN! Because that thing is a borderline superhero. Which is why they should make a movie, but no! Hollywood, on their moral high horse refuses to make a movie about a retarded chimp. Unless you count a Vin Diesel movie.........Which I do!"

Yes! Agreed! Been waiting years for a movie like this :) was brilliant

I finally got the chance to see it on BluRay and it blew my mind. Didn't expect it to be so good and the cinematography and visual effects make it by far the best movie i've seen in the last 6 months.

reply

That means you've seen some horrendous movies.

Right you are ioexepct! You're dead on the money.

Didn't get the constantine reference.
I believe he did the AD&D thing as a promotion for this movie, are you telling me it's the other way round? That would be brilliant!
