Good movie

This was pretty fun and amusing. Sandler and Aniston are good too. The story was interesting and had some good twists and turns along the way. Sandler's best film in years. My rating is 8/10.

It was good, I think that Drew Barrymore would have been much better than Aniston though, she has much better chemistry with Sandler and is a lot more charming/funny. Aniston is beautiful but she was very flat and boring.

Funny, I thought that while she was okay in the role, that the biggest problem was Adam Sandler. Frankly he just wasn't funny in the role. Although to be honest I can't remember the last time he was actually funny in a movie.

This was a long time ago...

I think that was kind of the point of his character in this movie. He wasn't supposed to be a super funny guy, but more of a try hardish type. If I remember correctly his wife (Jennifer's character) even says something along the lines of this to him throughout the story.

Anyway I thought he was pretty funny in the Blended and Pixels.

I agree, his character wasn't really written to be funny... But it seemed like sometimes he was delivering lines as if he was in Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison, almost as if he was trying to be funny but it just fell flat. Maybe its because he really can't act beyond his Happy Gilmore character so everything he does comes out the same... In which case it would have probable been a better movie with a different actor in the role.

Eh, I don't think so. It's just another silly comedy so I don't see a problem in him coming off some what similar to some of his past roles, but I don't think those movies you listed are what he reminded me of. More like his role in Click and Growns Up. Basically the ones where he spends a lot of time with an on screen wife.

With that said though, I was kinda thinking about how the movie might have been if It was Brad Pitt with Jenn in the movie. Wouldn't mind seeing them do something together one of these days.

reply

He would have been a better choice than Sandler.. but probably couldn't have afforded him. I thought possible Jason Bateman would have made a better husband in the show. Sandler just didn't seem right.

reply

Eh, I like him and Drew too but they can't do everything together. It's always great to see Jenn on screen imo. I enjoyed her character.

7 out of 10 for me. Very enjoyable movie.

I'll have to catch it.

reply

Do it you won't regret it. It's a perfect mix of classic and modern.

This is a clock-watcher. Couldn't wait for it to end. Skip it.

I would give a 6/10. Sandler had poor delivery and no comedic timing but overall the show made me laugh aloud more than most other comedies I've seen lately. Plus I'm a sucker for a good murder mystery which Americans do better than anyone when we do it right and this was right. They kept the action going so we didn't have time to think too hard about the absurd bits.

reply

Yeah, I thought so too. Some parts were just stupid (which can happen in most comedies) but on the whole, I thought it was very entertaining and really cute!

reply

It's an easy, breezy way to kill 90 minutes.

It's not a great comedy--I'm not sure I actually laughed out loud even once--but it's amusing and not a bad watch if you're just looking for something fun and light to watch.

The cast also seems to be having fun and I actually got invested in the mystery and wanted to know whodunnit.

I'll give it a 6.5/10. Not bad.

It was okay. I thought the first half was just brilliant. But after they got off the boat, it just kind of became a whacky hijinks romcom picture. But the first half, when they were sort of spoofing murder mysteries while homaging them at the same time with a great bottle thriller setup with delightful eccentric characters was really solid.

Brilliant?
