Why? America.

This movie makes me THANK GOD that I'm not American! Even empoverished places like Cuba have 10x better medical care. I'm surprised that poor Americans don't try to jump the border to Canada and try to seek medical asylum or something. Why do Americans just accept the crappy health care they get in their country and say thank you, may I please have some more? Why don't they demand better health care from their government? The USA is SERIOUSLY BROKEN! I really would like an American to explain to me why they put up with this. Especially when right next door in Canada, everyone gets A1 care FOR FREE no matter what their income. Why not try and jump the border?
Now, I'm European, so we also get premium health care for free. And no 12 hour sit in the waiting room. I've never had to wait over an hour for emergency room care. It's so sad that Americans choose to run their country like this. This documentary broke my heart.
And from what I've seen in the American news lately is that VETERANS - people who risk their lives for their country, get even worse care.

Yes, it is, in its health care policies especially. The citizens and the government would both benefit from having a single-payer health-care system, but the insurance industry has too much influence and older Americans, who vote in greater numbers than any other age group, have a Cold War mentality that tells them single-payer health care is "communism"--end of discussion.
