The twins (spoilers)

The film seemed to explaine what happened to them, but at the same time the loose ends left me wondering what really had happened.

Were the people who abused them the same group as were making the snuff movies?

Did the twins really commit suicide? I find it hard to believe two such small girls could have.

Did the father beat/tie them to the chairs/abuse them? Was this made up to divert from the truth.

Was the sheriff there uncle? If so why did he seem to not want the case solved? Was he in on the snuff?

If the father knew the truth why didn't he go to another (bigger maybe) town and tell his story so fbi or someone high up could investigate.

At one point I even wondered if the twins had existed or were made up as to snare people to go to the area to be killed. Although I dismissed this idea by the end of the movie.

Also nothing seemed to be made of the comment one side character made about there being no young people. Were the snuff guys killing all the local kids?
