it's a shame too. Far better than titanic. Hoover had problems yes, but he did implement concept of evidence collection--vs just letting law enforcement get their own fingerprints over everything. And the idea of a central database Somebody who had been comfortable/allowed to be comfortable with his own sexuality probably could have done really great things for the country.

On what metrics are you measuring “J. Edgar“ that cause you to say it’s better than “Titanic“? It goes without saying that “Titanic“ is an extremely well-made and engaging film. “J. Edgar“ may be about an interesting topic, but at best, its execution is lackluster and misguided.

It proves dicaprio can do serious films and isn't trying to just do things where people fall in love with him/think he is adorable. Nobody would describe J Edgar Hoover as adorable.

He was doing movies like that before “Titanic“, too, such as “This Boy’s Life”, “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape”, and “The Basketball Diaries”.

not in the same way high school b-ball plater strung out on heroin didn't have the same national international impact on current events as former first director of FBI

reply

And yet, even that film was far more resonant than J. Edgar. Fascinating.
