Keri Russel's Character is so annoying

It could have been a good and funny show if they had cut out every scene that Keri Russel was in; although nothing against Ms. Russel, it's all the writers' fault.
It seems Mitchel Hurwitz can conceive only one female character archetype. Emmy Kadubic is basically a less pretentious, since she seems to actually care about those stupid causes, yet more oblivious version of Lindsay Bluth (at least she knew what she wanted in life).

shes basically a one note character. it became painfully obvious near the end of the show that they didnt have much material. shes an environmentalist hypocrite. thats what she is in every episode. thats what the plot of every episode resolves around. it really makes her come off as one of the least likable characters on the show. even Andy came off as more likeable.

i liked the show but it was flawed from the start. Emmy Kadubic isnt a character. shes an annoying plot device and it really detracted from my enjoyment of the show.

Yup.
It wasn't the actresses fault. I think she did pretty good with the weak material. But the character was really hollow for sure.

I just got around to watching this start to finish and two things that kept popping in my head: The characters are great but not enough for the main arc of a show. On the side mixed with other stories/cast it would have been great. But thats how it felt. Like there is a whole second part of the cast somewhere edited out. If that makes sense.

And 2nd was her character was just so empty. All she did was sit around this mansion complaining she wasn't doing anything. The character was doomed out of the gate. Had she really been active she would have never been around so catch 22. Basically left her as full of hot air. She had to be around for the show.

Arnett is always great. But even his character had nowhere to go at times. If he changed, that would be boring so he had to resort to his childish, spoiled and naive ways every week for the humor.

The show had some great moments but it was really doomed because nobody could really do what they were supposed to want to be doing... This idea is almost better suited for a movie so the cast can change by the end.
