This show is great for so many reasons.

I was pretty much sold when in the pilot episode Burt was wearing a Social D t-shirt and they were listening to The Dead Milkmen in the car. And how Virginia refers to Andrew as "a skinny version of the fat guy from 'Mallrats'", and "My Name is Earl" as "that show with the 'Mallrats' guy". "Mallrats" is the best movie ever. Oh man and that episode where they all go on that fiancée's retreat, and Virginia and Burt wait for the good part of the song before they get out of the car. It's just a great show.

Burt's "I'd Rather Be In Virginia" T-Shirt.

I cannot understand how great shows are canceled and crap lives on. This show is full to the brim with sharp wit and intellect all in a simple setting. It's brilliant and should be a hit that doesn't cancel. Other poor decisions of canceled shows: happy endings, don't trust the B in apt 23, and suburgatory. Cute, satirical, and rewatch-able plus relevant years after being off the air. Whoever makes these decisions is misguided and likely bankrolling stupidity.
