Great show with Terrible ending

So many unanswered questions. People try to explain it away by saying Regis was literally the devil, a supernatural being that can make anyone do what he wants. But that's the deus ex machina trope: "god comes down from heaven to solve all your plot holes." Except in this case it was the devil coming up from hell. Lazy writing.
