IMDB is telling us that it comes out in Russia late this year (next to the title it says 2016 too). On the other hand various websites state that the premiere is arriving sometime mid 2017 or "tba" which makes sense considering that they are still in post production as of now. Which leads me to ask; what the heck is going on with the marketing? You have 2 high-billed stars, one with an honorary Oscar, and also a great known director but they just can't market ANYTHING YET. What gives?

My guess is they haven't settled on a distributor yet.

STX distributes their films themselves.

It's been updated to "29 September 2017 (USA)"

Ugh, one more year of post production? Why is it taking so long, why can't they release a trailer and why isn't there hype?

Maybe, STX entertainment and Jackie Chan have prefered wait the releases of RAILROAD TIGERS and KUNG FU YOGA, two action comedy.

THE FOREIGNER is a heavy drama thriller. So, they doesn't wanted mixed the genre.
