SPOILER : Greve, his end game and his plans.

His end game was to become head of Pathfinder, that much is clear. But why exactly ? Why was it so important for HOTE to infiltrate their competitor since HOTE had a working product ?

Was the one by Pathfinder better ? Did they want to sabotage their progress ? Were they looking to poach Pathfinder clients ? Maybe this is specified in the book, but based on the movie I don't really get it.

OK, so given that Pathfinder always listened to Roger (a claim he makes to Lander), they had to go through him.

Tactic 1 : Lotte seduces Roger and introduces him to Clas. FAILED

Tactic 2 : Clas introduces himself to Diane, who introduces him to Roger. SUCCESS But a by-product of this tactic is that Clas sleeps with Diane (good job focussing on the mission there, Ser Jaime...).

As a result, Roger makes it clear that Clas will never get the job.

Tactic 3 : Clas needs to get rid off Roger and work with his colleague. So in order to achieve this, he plants the needle in his car which is supposed to knock him out. I imagine he would then have come into the garage and...

And what exactly ? Kidnap Roger and make him disappear ? Does the book give any insights as to his plans ?

When I'm gone I would like something to be named after me. A psychiatric disorder, for example.

Hi there, I'll try and answer some of your questions! Firstly though I really recommend you read the book, its brilliant. Although the movie is entertaining, of course the characterisation can never be the same as the book, and certain sections have been changed. Still a good movie though :)

In the book, greves old company HOTE has been bought over by a large American firm. The American firm want more GPS contracts and power and so want to take over pathfinder as well. They know that a CEO position on pathfinder is open, so they have frozen greves shares in HOTE until he gets the job, then he can convince the pathfinder board that being taken over is the best way forward. In the movie however, I think it's that pathfinder has advanced technology and greve is working for HOTE (and their buyers) to infiltrate and then leak this technology..

In regards to the poison in the car, yes it was meant for Roger and was placed by his wife. Greve convinced Diana that the poison would just knock Roger out for a while, so she planted it. The idea was to take Roger to a discreet location and force him to sign the recommendation, so greve could get the job. This would just involve convincing him with a bride, at least that's what greve told Diana. In reality however, greve later admits that he would almost certainly have tortured Roger and then probably have disposed of him.

I hope this has helped a bit. Also, like I said the book is fantastic. And seeing the movie won't ruin any of it, as there is so much more to be read
