Just Saw The Movie...This Could've Been Better As A TV Series

I've never read the books myself but I think with a story like this you can't just pack it into one movie [ESPECIALLY if it's being taken over by disney channel] I think it would've been more interesting if it was an actual show that had time to develop the characters and get all the good material from the books. From what I've read on this board and general knowing of books being made into movies I think it's safe to say the movie didn't follow the book much. Maybe they'll do a sequel though who knows...

Yea, Disney Channel really butchered the book... as a movie adaption it was really bad. I do agree with you though. I think it could work well as a TV show. The CW did that with The Vampire Diaries and while they have strayed from the books, I think that the idea worked better than if they had just made the books into different movies. I think it would be a good TV show if it wasn't on Disney channel though since they probably would have still ruined it somehow.

They ended the movie exactly how you would to transition into a TV series... I would not be surprised to see this come back as a series or at least be considered.

While it doesn't follow the book, shows like True Blood have shown you can make small changes with the story and still be very successful as a series.

Yeah exactly...I mean hell maybe I'd actually watch Disney on a regular basis for the first time in....5 or 6 years?

Really I thought this would of made a good theatrical film, change the cast and bigger budget and you've got the next Chronicles of Narnia or Harry Potter series.
